This article guides users through the first-time actions after successfully logging in/registering to the MISA MoneyKeeper app, starting from the welcome screen to the initial setup steps and getting familiar with some of the app’s main features.
2. Steps to Follow
2.1. First-Time Setup Instructions When Logging In to MISA MoneyKeeper
After logging in successfully, the screen will display a welcome message. Tap Get Started to move to the next step.
Step 1: Tap Get Started on the welcome screen.
Step 2: Select your current occupation, then tap Continue.
This helps the app suggest a spending management approach that is suitable for you.
Step 3: Select your record-keeping purpose, then tap Continue.
Having a clear record-keeping purpose will be a strong motivation to help you stay committed on your journey to mastering your personal finances.
Step 4: Select your currency and enter the amount of money currently available in your wallet, then start recording today.
After completing these steps, the system will help you get familiar with the interface and important features in the app.
2.2. Getting Familiar with MISA MoneyKeeper
Step 1: Get familiar with the Total Balance section
On the Overview screen, the app displays a quick guide to the Total Balance section. Users can:
- Track the total amount of money currently available
- Tap the eye icon to hide/show the balance
Step 2: Get familiar with the Income & Expense Overview and Report Charts
The app continues to display guidance in the Income and Expense Overview area, where users can:
- Track Income/Expenses
- Quickly view income and expense charts by month/quarter/year
- Monitor an overview of expenses allocated by category
Step 3: Get familiar with the Bank Statement Import feature

Step 4: Get familiar with adding a transaction
The app displays guidance for the (+) button on the navigation bar to add a new transaction. Detailed instructions are available Here.
Step 5: Get familiar with the Receipt Extraction feature
At this step, the app introduces the Receipt Extraction feature, which allows users to:
- Take a photo of or select a receipt image
- Let the system automatically recognize transaction information
- Review and confirm the information
- Tap Finish to start managing personal finances
4. Notes / Troubleshooting
- Some content displayed in the onboarding screens may be sample data, not the user’s actual data.
- If the initial amount is entered incorrectly, users can still update it later while using the app.
- To use the voice recording feature, users need to grant the app microphone access.
